Two engines split the 2027 lineup with no overlap: Laredo and Laredo X run the 293-horsepower 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and every other trim gets the 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 turbo, rated at 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft and matched to Jeep's new Gen IV 8-speed automatic.

The turbo's torque suits the Llano Estacado, strong from low rpm for passing cotton trucks on US-84, and the EPA estimates 21 mpg city, 26 highway, and 23 combined from the two-wheel-drive version. Both engines carry the same 6,200-pound best-in-class maximum tow rating when properly equipped.

Screens got a 2027 upgrade at the entry point: Laredo and Laredo X move from the old 8.4-inch display to a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and Laredo Altitude onward carries the 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 NAV unit. Every trim pairs its center screen with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, a class-exclusive 10.25-inch passenger display is available, and audio climbs from six speakers through the Limited's Alpine setup to the Summit's 19-speaker McIntosh system.

Standard equipment on every 2027 Grand Cherokee includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring with rear cross path detection, Active Lane Management, and rear park assist with a backup camera.

Hurricane 4 trims add Active Driving Assist, blending adaptive cruise with lane centering for those long, straight West Texas miles, and the options sheet reaches to hands-free driving assistance, a 360-degree camera, and night vision with pedestrian and animal detection.

Ten trims give the 2027 body real range, with the Trailhawk and Overland arriving later in the year: the new Laredo Upland brings all-terrain tires and Vapor Gray tow hooks to the value end, the returning Trailhawk stacks 30.5-inch Goodyear all-terrains, six skid plates, and 11.4 inches of best-in-class ground clearance at full lift, and the Overland returns with 21-inch machined wheels and bright tow hooks.
